Ski School By eleanorbueza on March 3, 2005 > www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/Canada/Province_of_British_Columbia/Whistler-911656/Things_To_Do-Whistler-BR-8.html If you've made the decision to learn how to ski at Whistler, I highly recommend registering for half- or full-day lessons with their Ski School. When I first arrived at Whistler, I thought I could manage to ski down from the Peak. Was I ever wrong! I ended up falling every other second, nearly bursting into tears, removing my skis and walking back up the mountain to take the gondola down. My partner registered me in some lessons and the advancement was remarkable. With highly qualified and fun instructors, you'll be smiling and whizzing down the slopes in no time. By lesson 4, you'll be parallel skiing and enjoying blue runs. Most instructors come from Australia and are absolutely lovely. Whether you are beginner, intermediate, or advanced, they'll identify flaws in your technique and help you to correct them, while at the same time challenging you further. Directions: Register for ski school lessons on the lower level of the Carlton Lodge, which is right in the middle of the village, in front of the Whistler gondola.
