Skiing on Whistler Mountain By Ann75 on October 8, 2003 The Roundhouse at the top of Whistler Mountain by Ann75 view source> www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/Canada/Province_of_British_Columbia/Whistler-911656/Things_To_Do-Whistler-BR-2.htmlIf you are here in the winter and like to ski or snowboard, this is the place to be! Whistler has 2 mountains with tons of ski runs, snowboard pipes and so much more. A 5km/3 mile long gondola lifts skiers more than a vertical kilometer up Whistler Mountain above the valley to east-facing slopes served by eight chairlifts and a T-bar. Over the back of the main mountain, the Harmony Express quad chairlift serves 400 hectares (1,000 acres) of bowl skiing.

If you've come up during ski/biard season you are most definately coming up to ski or snowboard. Well you've come to the right place. The best thing about Whislter is that there are 2 mountains! Whistler mtn and Blackcomb mtn! I like Blackcomb because it is a little more snowboard friendly. I am a beginner so I don't do any of that crazy back country stuff. Jersey Ceam is my favourite run area on Blackcomb. If you're new and have trouble keeping speed stay away from the long, flat run leading to the 7th heaven express. On Whistler I like emerald green, it's fun, easy and for those who are daring enough there is a small trick park and you can test yourself on jumps, rails and boxes!

Whistler is the largest skiing area in BC. Looking at the trail charts, the selection and quantity of trails is diverse and huge. During summer months, the mountain is used for a variety of sports including biking, bear viewing and hiking.
